Tennis, Honey Deuces, and more Tennis [Day 2 in NYC]

What can get better than a full day of tennis accompanied by delicious and refreshing drinks (Honey Deuces)? Maybe besides rooting for the underdog, Nishikori, and him winning, and getting filmed on the ATP channel. I

We left our hotel at 11am and didn't get back until 1:30am, so you bet we were tired, sweaty, and ready for bed. On the subway, we met these guys from Florida who were very obviously wealthy. We sat with them while we got lunch and one guy told us that he owns a limited edition Maserati that he "never drives because it's parked at [his] beach house. [He] normally drives [his] Cayenne." L O L okay... And he was also wearing a diamond studded Cartier wedding band which goes for about $3000. I guess... goals? 

The Murray and Nishikori match was one for the books! At the start of the match, it seemed like an easy one for Murray since he won 6-1 but as anyone knows, don't count out the Asian guy. It was a back and forth battle throughout the 4 hour match. But I think the biggest competition was the audience rooting for both guys. There was a huge Murray support behind us and everyone else around us were going for Nishikori so it was basically a screaming/cheering match the entire time. Afterward on the way out of the stadium, we were stopped by ATP news people and got interviewed about the match. So hopefully we didn't sound stupid... haha can't wait to see the actual interview!

And then there was me... just down drinks after drinks... whoops!

Hey, at least we now have a nice collection of US Open souvenirs! I mean, we paid enough for these drinks...

Next, we watched Serena v. Halep and that was no fun. I honestly hate watching Serena play (sorry to any Serena fans!), but seriously, it's no fun watching someone who just dominates and gives no one else a chance. I love watching sports between players/teams that are really close, neck-to-neck, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat exciting for each point. That never happens when I watch Serena. I normally just zone her out... Again, it's actually a praise to her because she's just so damn good and it's unfair for everyone else.

Our last match was between Del Potro (or as Randy calls him "Della Potro" v. Wawrinka but that didn't start until around 9:30pm and by 12:30, it was only the third set with them each winning a set. There was no way for us to survive the entire match... So we dipped out and made it back home around 1:30am. 

Tennis is person is hands down 1000x better in person than on tv! I loved watching the ball get hit back and forth. You really see all the energy each play puts into each point. I can't wait to go again!!
