Upgrading my photography: Sony Alpha a6000
I've been taking my travel pictures with my iPhone 6 which has been a great companion and a dependable one but I think it's finally time to make the jump and upgrade my photography. For graduation, I asked for a travel camera that I can use this summer on my different trips around the US to help me prepare for my year long gap year trip abroad.
I wanted something lightweight but powerful. I did a ton of research and decided to go with a mirrorless camera. You can think of it as somewhere between a point-and-shoot and a DSRL (closer to the DSRL side) but is much more compact and portable. Sony has been a frontrunner in the mirrorless industry and their alpha cameras have been the talk of the town for a few years now. Professional photographers have used it for big occasions such as weddings and other events that would normally call for a DSLR. That's how powerful and hightech it is.
I went with the Sony Alpha a6000 (there's a newer version: a6300 but it's more expensive and not THAT much more different especially for a beginner photographer).
I AM SO STOKED TO START USING THIS AND GETTING BETTER AT PHOTOGRAPHY! AHHHHH so be on the look out for better pictures on this blog. My next trip is to Maui, Hawaii!
