A World Wonder - Machu Picchu

A World Wonder - Machu Picchu

This place lived up to all of its expectations. To be honest, I didn't think I would be so blown away by this place because I've seen tons of pictures and a lot of major touristy sights are a bit of a disappointment in real life since you set this high bar for it. But Machu Picchu was not one of those places. I could not believe my eyes and what I was seeing. The intricacy and grand structure of MP was beyond anything I have ever seen. Those Incas were intelligent impressive people, wiser than the age of time. The way they built this place was far more advanced than any modern machinery and technology can do. It's a shame that the place is sinking. They are slowly closing off more parts of the sight from tourists and they predict in 10-15 years you will not be able to visit it anymore and you can only see it by climbing the adjacent mountain, which is not the same as seeing it in real size up close. I am so glad I was able to see this world wonder. I did not think it would come so soon but worth all those miles/km of trekking.

However, the 40 minutes straight of uphill stairs was not the business at 4am in the morning. It was like stairmaster 3000 the entire time and I was dripping in sweat by the top. I guess makes me not as guilty to be eating all those shitty foods and drinking those sugary drinks. My first gym in about 6 months... whoops!

Here are a few pictures from Machu PIcchu:
