Hi.

Welcome to Finding Chi! I document my journey to finding inner peace, adventure, and myself through words, pictures, and videos. Have a look around!

Surprised myself with my cooking abilities

At this workaway, we take turn every night to make dinner for everyone (9 people). It was my turn and if you know me, you know how much I dislike cooking and just a terrible cook in general but I surprised myself last night. I made Lamb Broth Noodle Soup!

We had leftover lamb bones and spaghetti pasta from the other night. I slow simmered the lamb bone in two pots of water. I added carrots, onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, salt, dried chilies, peppercorn, and lemon, just anything I could find our house. I let it simmer for about 4 hours, tasting it as it went alone and adding salt and such as needed.

My host got a second helping so I think it was a huge success! I'm so proud of myself with how I was able to make a meal with leftovers that we had in the house. The entire time I was telling everyone that I didn't know what I was making. "We shall see..."

*I forgot to take a nice picture so this is all I've got...

*Update on cooking

I decided to show my awesome cooking skills and made Teriyaki Chicken and Oven-cooked Veggies with rice. I had never made this before and I just followed recipes online and it came out soooo delicious. The others couldn't stop complimenting on perfect the chicken came out.

I marinated the chicken with soy sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger for about 15 - 20 minutes. Then I grilled them on a pan for about 6 minutes each side. The veggies were coated in soy sauce and olive oil.
