I LOVE LOVE LOVE Porto

I spent my 3 days off from work in Porto, Portugal. I honestly did not have any expectations before going. Portugal was definitely a country I wanted to visit but Lisbon was always the city I thought I was going to visit first. However, a friend I met in Prague back in March told me he was in Portugal for the entire month of October and he preferred Porto over Lisbon. So I decided to meet him in Porto and skip out on Lisbon. To my surprise, I was so blown away by the city, the people, the culture, the architecture, and just everything. I kept telling people that if they spoke Spanish in Porto, I would consider moving there. 

Maybe I just lucked out because all three days I was in the city, it was city and warm, very uncommon for Porto during this time. Plus, I might a bunch of cool people from everywhere (France, Argentina, US, Australia, Germany, etc). And I always say that the people make the trip. I will go into greater details about what I did on the trip but overall, it was beyond amazing,

I wish I had time to visit other cities in Portugal because I didn't get enough! I met an American and Australian who rented a car and drove down the coast of Portugal to visit all the major cities. I would loooveee to do the same! For example, I really want to see Lisbon, Faro, Cascais, Largos, etc. But only 2.5 days in Porto was NOT enough. The city is huge with so much going on, I wish I had at least another day or two. 

Like I said, this post is just an appreciation, love letter type of post for Porto and not a detailed one of my trip there but it's a hidden city that most don't bother visiting. But I will tell you that if you do, you will be SOO pleasantly surprised. I'm not one to sugarcoat anything so I if I like a city, I will say so, and if I don't you will hear about it.
